All of our auto repair and maintenance is more than just a service – it’s a commitment to the long-term value of your vehicle.

Transmission Repairs and Maintenance

Fluid Exchange

Automatic transmission fluid lubricates, cools, and cleans internal components of the transmission. It also helps to maintain the hydraulic pressure necessary for the transmission to function. The additives in the transmission fluid can be depleted over time.

Automatic Transmission Fluid Exchange service includes:

  • Addition of a detergent package that serves to dissolve and hold particulate deposits in suspension to permit removal.
  • Use of specific transverse flush equipment that affects a 100% exchange of the fluid in the transmission system with full synthetic ATF.
  • Confirm a total fluid exchange on every reach of the transmission system including the torque converter and transmission cooler.
  • Addition of friction modifiers and belt conditioners that meet or exceed OEM requirements.
  • Road test with computer scan to confirm the full function of all solenoids and valves of your transmission.

Manual Transmission Service

A transmission is a speed and power-changing device located between the engine and the driving wheels of a vehicle. It provides a means for changing the ratio between engine RPM and driving wheel RPM to meet each particular driving situation.

Manual transmission fluid provides lubrication to gears, bearings, shafts, and other internal components. Heat, pressure, and friction can slowly break down the additives in the manual transmission fluid. In addition, small particles of metal may come off the gears as they wear and these metal particles can mix with the fluid. Fluids can also become contaminated with water.

Manual Transmission service includes:

  • Addition of a detergent package that serves to dissolve and hold particulate deposits in suspension to permit removal.
  • Evacuating the old manual transmission fluid.
  • Filling the manual transmission fluid with the manufacturer’s recommended new fluid.
  • Addition of friction modifiers and conditioners that meet or exceed OEM requirements

Fluid Exchange & Filter Replacement

Wear components can distribute fine metallic filings through the transmission, which are trapped in the transmission fluid filter. Over time this filter will require service.

Our Automatic Transmission Fluid Exchange & Filter Replacement service includes:

  • Addition of a detergent package that serves to dissolve and hold particulate deposits in suspension to permit removal.
  • Removing the transmission pan.
  • Removing the old transmission filter and replacing it with a new transmission filter.
  • Removing the old gasket material.
  • Replacing the pan gasket with a new gasket and reinstalling the pan.
  • Refilling the transmission with new automatic transmission fluid to the proper level.

Transmission Maintenance Tips

Keeping your car's transmission in good condition is essential for its durability and smooth performance.

  • Check and Maintain Transmission Fluid

Regularly check the transmission fluid level and condition. Ensure it is at the correct level and is clean; low or dirty fluid can cause significant transmission problems.

  • Inspect for Leaks

Regularly check under your car for signs of transmission fluid leaks. Transmission fluid is usually red or pink.

  • Drive Smoothly and Shift Gears Properly

Avoid aggressive driving (i.e. hard braking and rapid acceleration), which puts extra stress on the transmission.
